Country Livin' with a Refurbished Patio Table

I love breathing new life into found objects. My mom and I repainted this table base last summer -- left behind by the previous owners. It was a dirty, dirty beige. We fixed 'er up and painted it a bright red, then mom made this mosaic tabletop for it (it had no tabletop). Isn't it bee-YOO-tee-full?! We had to give it a test run with pina coladas and a crown/sprite combo last weekend... we'll be utilizing it for some hamburgers and salad later today.

Hubster had these two vintage green patio chairs ... we spruced them up with a bright aqua paint. Can you tell I like bright, vivid caribbean colors? :-) Just the perfect colors to brighten up the Kansas prairie!

And of course, Ringo is doing his ranch dog impersonation..... lazing in the sun.

Now I must go outside to assist with the house painting job. Hubby is currently patching an area of foundation that is quite cracked and wide open; mom is applying a 2nd coat of trim paint to several windows. They probably don't appreciate the fact that I am updating my blog....

  2. I need your mom to help me with a table. Is she ready for a trip to Ca.? I have been wanting to do that also. You are lucky your mom is there she will have your house inside and our ready for the summer. I am sure she is happy she is able to get this done with you so you can enjoy your house. I know I would for my daughter.Enjoy every moment together!!

  3. Wow! That table is a work of art. I wonder what it's history is? The bottom is very unusual, too!

Your Mom is a very talented artist! I bet between the table and the mixed drinks, you felt carried away to a different place. heheh!

My hubby is the opposite about the blogging. He does things and encourages me take pics of things all the while telling me, "You'll put this on the blog, right?" lol! Me thinks he's a bit of a ham. :)

    Enjoy your day!

ps, Can you e-mail me and tell me the name of that dating service you used? I'm interested for my neighbor friend, who has been a widow for a couple years now....and could use a strong, loyal cowboy to sweep her off her feet.

  13. Yay! What a gorgeous job mom did! And what a fine liquid inauguration for it, here! here! And what a coincidence, my tile tabletop on our patio out back is getting a little grout-addled! I'm watching for the "after" pictures of the house too. Wish I could have been there for the house painting project, and I'm not kidding. I know the three of us would have had fun. Oh wait, the gnats, I forgot about the gnats....well, I sure woulda been rooting you two on from the gnatless side of a screen, that's for darn sure!
