SkyWatch Friday

I just love to mix things up... so in that vein, I'm posting my SkyWatch Friday photos on THIS blog, instead of my other blog. Yeah, you can see I like to shake things up sometimes.

We had some storms pass through here two nights ago... sometimes the clouds were pretty intense. I think we got over an inch of rain in less than an hour!

  1. I love the big sky view that you enjoy. Things are a bit more closed in here by comparison. Happy Thursday!

  2. That's a weird band of light splitting the blue sky. Cool.

  3. This is what I imagine tornado skies to look like so I would be running for cover. No tornados in California so I don't really know.

  11. The second shot is so much more dramatic with the house lights on. Nicely done.

  14. With my years spent as a young one on the plains, we became pretty good at reading the sky. You never wanted to be caught outside on your bicycle with a nasty summer storm approaching.

Looks like you all do your share of mowing as well...

In that first one, it looks as if the clouds are about to come down and touch the ground..

  17. We're a bit lower in the "alley" than you are, and tornadoes are a tiny bit less frequent. But skies like the ones you shot would have me checking the radar pretty frequently. I do love the openness of the land in your pictures, though. All you need is Toto to make the scenes complete . . . Happy SWF.
