Simple Jelly/Jam Jar Design

Some scrapbook paper and a creatively hand-printed label. Really, how much simpler could it get?

I was thinking all week, how could I very simply decorate my jars? I was stuck on the typical fabric lids that one usually sees everywhere.

But I wanted something VERY simple. Easy. Quick.

I saw an idea to cut a circle from felt and embroider a small design such as a cherry, strawberry or apple. Very cute, but still too time consuming for me.

Then hubby suggested "construction paper, draw something on it"... and that's when it hit me, just use some of my scrapbook paper! And voila, there I had my finished jam jars!

Side Note:
The jam has officially been declared a success... hubby wondered
why I left one half of his english muffin un-jammed...
I told him it was for mopping up his egg...
he wanted jam on it!

  1. I like it! However, I don't have the talent to put writing on my jars like you, would have to do something on the computer....I'll post my canning stuff too, yesterday I made homemade apple pie filling, YUM!

  5. I would be using this jar for decoration and display it on the counter, except it would be empty because that jam wouldn't last a nanoo second!

  9. You did great, mine are sitting on the shelf naked! I didn't even think about (well maybe a little) telling anyone what it is. Heck, just smear it on the toast or what ever suits you fantsy and you will know what it is.
Your idea is much nicer I guess I had better get myself a little more creative and follow you in that way!!

  11. Well, how clever are you!!! I've only made jam one time and don't know why I don't do it more often. Maybe next summer.
